SOMBRE MOOD

Go if you must

the door is there

slam it if you want

I don't care

I may wallow in self-pity for a time

so be it

at least this sombre mood is mine

I'll sit here with my dreams in tatters

to hell with the rest, nothing else matters

I'll work overtime to create this gloomy

despair of mine

I shall mourn my loss

days will pass, I shall recover in time

but for this moment

let this sombre mood be mine

SLAPDASH

You really shouldn't have told me you loved me

you said it at least three times a day

I think you lost its true meaning

somewhere a long the way

With a blind faith I trusted you

my heart exposed wide

I was so gullible

to let you step inside

A slapdash sloppy sentiment

a flimsy weak devotion

casual pie crust promises

easily made, sorely broken
